I discovered a cute little quilting shop in Yorba Linda called Threaded Pear Studio. They have the most beautiful fabrics there - although I must admit that I am not a quilter!! I went with my friend Sarah to check it out and I found a cute pattern called Apron-a-Go-Go. You can find the pattern here: www.threadedpear.com

I am addicted to making these cute little aprons. You can whip them up in about 15-20 minutes.

Baby Cloche

Yesterday I woke up and decided that I wanted to make a baby hat for a baby shower that I am going to in a couple weeks for one of my cousins. I found this cute little hat and decided to try out my crocheting skills! The tutorial was simple to follow - I highly recommend it!

Sherman Gardens

Sherman Gardens and Library is a little quaint place along PCH in Corona del Mar that I bet most of you have never even heard of. You probably drive by it and don't even give it a second thought! I have been going there to practice my photography skills and took my parents there this past Saturday to help my Dad out with his new camera.

Back to the grind...

http://lamaisonreid.blogspot.com/2010/08/burlap-purse-with-shabby-rose.html....had the last couple days off and today it's back to the grind. Although that "grind" includes packing and start moving to my new place! My friend Amy moved to Florida and I am moving into her condo just a couple of blocks down the road. However, still have to pack everything up!! Luckily the Rojo's moved this past weekend, so I *inherited* all of their boxes :)

In the midst of packing, I've been able to keep up with my sewing Home Ec class that I signed up for. Here are a couple of the items I've made recently:

Cute pillow!

Burlap purse. This one wasn't part of the class - saw it on a blog and just couldn't resist making it myself.

Also been crocheting some cute little dish rags for the Tres Dias womens weekend - where I am Head Cook. I am hoping to make about 30 of these for cooks markers, but just don't know if I'll get them all done!! I've made 7 so far, so we'll see how it goes.

Haven't picked up my camera lately and am missing it. Need to get out there and keep up on what I've learned!! Maybe this next weekend.....

Home Ec Class

I decided that I needed to add one more thing to my life and signed up to take an online Home Ec Sewing class. There are so many fun projects - I can't wait to make them all!!

Today's assignment was to make napkins. I bought this cute *daisy* fabric and a plaid brown to complement. But today I went back to Joann's and found exactly what I was really looking for! I needed to practice before I made the ones with the cute fabric....so, here they are:

The ric rac could definitely use some major help!! The next ones I'm skipping that - or at least I think I'm going to.

The good news is that I haven't forgotten how to sew...the bad news is that I need a TON of practice!!

Tomorrow's project is a cute little bag...can't wait!

It's been far to long...

...once again! I know, I know :)

So, what's been going on??

I'll start by going backwards:

Saw In the Heights at Orange County Performing Arts yesterday with Sarah Q. It was really good - not what I was expecting, but good nonetheless. Bought tickets on GoldStar - half priced tickets. If you haven't checked that out, you should. Have really scored with tickets on that site and intend to get more in the future :)

Been helping Stacey get ready for their big move down to SJC. Further south, but I can take the "back way" down there and miss the 5 freeway, which is SWEET!

Been preparing for my move down the road a big whooping 3 miles *right outside the gates to Coto de Caza*. I"m moving to Amy's condo - she moved to Florida, so going to take care of her place. It has been painted, carpet cleaned and am trying to see her left furniture on Craigs list...boy, that's been interesting. Even been a victim of trying to be scammed, but I'm not falling for any of that crap!!

Went to finally see World of Color for Stacey's birthday with the girls. We had a total blast - and with the help of a very special person, we were able to score some GREAT tickets to see the show! Helps to have connections I tell you :)

Celebrated Jay's birthday by attending a wine tasting at UnCorked in RSM. Great little place if you haven't been there - had fun with Mel, Clint, Jay and Stacey.

Celebrated Riley's 5th birthday at the park. Will share pictures in the next couple days of that fun event! Her hair is starting to come back in, and she is so darn cute!

That same day also went to a babyshower for my cousin's twin boys in Manhatten Beach. They are adorable!!

The weekend before that my brother came on over with his family and we hit the pool and bbq'd.

I know that there is plenty more to share....but I am so tired I can't remember :)

I did sign up for a Home Ec class and can't wait to start!!

Which means I promise to start posting again - sharing pictures of new things I'm making and also of pictures I have taken the last couple of weeks.

And no worries, I haven't stopped knitting!!!
