Masters of the Trampoline

Canada has figured out a way to "sweep" the medals in one of the weirdest events at the Olympics - TRAMPOLINE!!  In the 2012 Olympics, softball and baseball will no longer be on the docket, yet trampoline will.  And you can almost see it now...trampoline camps opening up in China so that the Chinese can excel at that sport as well :)  But for now, Canada is winning olympic medals in this weird sport - that is, before the rest of the world catches on.

Did anyone else watch this?  We were talking about it at lunch yesterday, and I had no idea that this really is a sport  - but sure enough, last night the girls were bouncing high and doing some incredible acrobatic stunts. 

Talk about weird events - what about sychronized swimming?  or how about rhythmic gymnastics?  they use ropes, ribbons and hulla hoops - ok, they don't call them a hulla hoop, just a *hoop*, but it's so silly!  I am working from home today, so turned on the Today Show.  Matt and Al did a whole section on this...you have to check it out on the Today Show website.  Very funny!  They have done some other olympic events in the past as well - the luge is hysterically funny with Al laying on top of Matt, hurling down the mountain!! 

Again, rhythmic gmynastics will stay, but baseball and softball will go!  Just very interesting. And hey, is Race-Walking really an event?  I heard that but haven't seen anything on this "sport" yet!
